"Midnight Sun"

This beaded cabochon is a fossilized ammonite that has been pyritized by nature for millions of years. Most fossilized ammonites are from the Paleozoic and Mesozoic eras. The animal was a spiral-shaped cephalopod resembling the chambered nautilus of today. It makes a beautiful necklace. The "stone" itself has small pyrite crystals withing the chambers. The cross section used in the necklace resembles a sun with rays emanating from the center, thus the name, "Midnight Sun". The 1.5 in X 1 in stone is beaded with hematite with flowing tassels of hematite and Swarovski crystals. The 18 in. necklace is silver and hamatite beads and closes with a silver push clasp.
